How it all started

Data analytics as a force for social good - this ostensibly and yet infinitely complex idea is what led to creation of the Eunalytics platform. As a scholar doing data science research, I got to experience the infinite potential of analytics to change the world for the better. It can have a tangible impact on a wide range of societal issues such as poverty, homelessness, discrimination, and inequality, by not simply detecting the severity and geographic distribution of these problems but also offering ways to mitigate them in real time. This is just one side of the equation Eunalytics is committed to, however. The other side has to do with the value users of the platform derive from the open data and insights provided here. Depending on how valuable these resources are to platform users, we encourage them to consider donating to a humanitarian cause of interest. About me

Hi there! My name is Jasmina Tacheva and I have not one but two cats - Kote & Matsa. They are a big inspiration to me although they do make it hard to focus sometimes. When I'm not working on my dissertation at the University of Buffalo, I love mining social media data the knowledge derived from which can help solve social problems. So far I have looked at hurricane relief communication, mental health posts, and overall health indicators in informal social media reporting. Let me know if you'd like to see other social issues analyzed through social media mining! I also like writing poetry and dabbling in long exposure photography. You can see what I've been up to in those departments on my writing and photography Instagram pages.
